Serviço é gratuito e atende ‘dependentes eletrônicos’ que tenham entre 12 e 16 anos; São Paulo tem serviço parecido.
Em tempos de Wii, Xbox e Playstation, são cada vez mais frequentes os adolescentes que passam horas em frente à televisão jogando videogame. Dependendo do caso, segundo psiquiatras, a brincadeira pode acabar virando um vício com sintomas semelhantes aos da dependência química. Pensando nisso, a Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Rio de Janeiro abriu um ambulatório para tratar gratuitamente adolescentes ‘dependentes eletrônicos’ de 12 a 16 anos.
‘Esse tema ainda é pouco falado no Brasil. Nos Estados Unidos e na Europa, a dependência de jogos eletrônicos em videogames e computadores é amplamente discutida e divulgada pela mídia’, informa o psiquiatra Fábio Barbirato, coordenador geral do setor.
Segundo o médico, os adolescentes viciados em videogames geralmente apresentam sintomas como aumento da agressividade e fissura, termo que caracteriza a necessidade de estar em contato com os jogos. Com a evolução do quadro, eles vão criando resistência e jogando cada vez mais, deixando de dormir e ir à escola.
‘A crise de abstinência é semelhante a dos alcoólatras’, avalia o psiquiatra. ‘Esses adolescentes ficam irritados quando falta energia elétrica ou quando os pais o proíbem de jogar por causa das notas baixas no colégio. Em alguns casos extremos, eles pegam dinheiro escondido e vão jogar em uma lan house’, diz Barbirato, completando que os pais devem limitar o uso de jogos eletrônicos e Internet em duas horas por dia.
O tratamento na Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Rio de Janeiro será feito através de consultas semanais. Os encontros poderão ser realizados em grupo ou individualmente, dependendo da necessidade. Durante o tratamento, os pais também serão orientados sobre como proceder no dia-a-dia para lidar com o assunto.
A triagem e o diagnóstico dos casos pela Santa Casa terão início em março para a seleção de 50 pacientes, entre 12 e 16 anos. Os interessados devem ligar para (21) 2533-0118. O hospital fica na Rua Santa Luzia, 206, no Centro do Rio de Janeiro. A Universidade de São Paulo (Unifesp) também oferece tratamento para ‘dependentes eletrônicos’, mas os grupos são compostos por crianças e adultos.
SP cuida de ‘dependentes da web’
Em São Paulo existe um serviço parecido, no Hospital das Clínicas, para atender pessoas viciadas em internet. O programa surgiu em 2007, sob coordenação do Dr. Cristiano Nabuco de Abreu.
Para se inscrever, o interessado deve acessar o site e fazer um pequeno teste para verificar a dependência na rede. Os ’selecionados’ são chamados para uma entrevista psicológica e seguem para atendimento individual ou de grupo. Qualquer pessoa pode fazer a inscrição, que é gratuito.
Alguns fatores que indicam a dependência em internet são: aumentar o tempo conectado para ter a mesma satisfação; esforços repetidos para diminuir o tempo de uso da Internet; irritabilidade ou depressão; mentir aos outros a respeito da quantidade de horas conectadas. O tratamento dura 18 semanas e as reuniões ocorrem sempre às quartas-feiras.
